2021 Week 26

Lets have somewhere to record some photos and such in a manner we can look back to them. I’ll try and post a weekly recap here.

To start off the week I flew back to Barcelona - this time for the ISL draft. I’ve only been to Barcelona once before this year - for a few days break in 2019 - so it was good to be back and explore the city again, especially with the familiarity fresh from last month’s Mare Nostrum tour.

The ISL draft was interesting. Day one was a bit dry and boring, although highlighted by the Rookie pick, where we picked up Evgeniia Chikunova🇷🇺. I was behind the scenes on day one, but for day two joined James as we went through the ‘real’ draft format picking up an additional athletes for Season 3. This took us to 27 and left us with 9 remaining to acquire in the next 30 days.

Another big highlight of the week was running (in the hills) with friends ⛰🏃‍♂️.

James and I got out for a morning run after which I discovered watermelon is a perfect post-run breakfast!

I also got to meet up with a college friend, Tatyana, who was in town for a holiday. It was great to see her again, and she was game for some hills which was fun!

After Barcelona, I flew back to Antalya 🇹🇷 for the first time since March. I had a few days out in Demre just on break where I made a point to visit the tomb of St. Nicholas - the figure whom Santa Clause/Father Christmas is based on. Unfortunately the tomb has been desecrated and the remains are now believed to be in a church in Bari, Italy.
